The fin under your longboard matters more than most people think. It controls how the board turns, holds in the wave, and feels under your feet. Here is what to consider.
Height
Taller fins (23cm and up) give more hold and control. They grip the wave face and keep the board tracking in a straight line. Good for nose riding and trimming. Shorter fins are looser but less stable.
Base length
A longer base (16cm+) means more drive - the board accelerates out of turns. A shorter base is easier to pivot but generates less speed. Our standard longboard fin has a 16.5cm base, which sits in the sweet spot for most riders.
Rake
Rake is how far the fin tip sweeps back from the base. Low rake (under 25 degrees) gives a tighter turning arc - good for carving. High rake (30+ degrees) gives longer, more drawn-out turns and better nose riding stability.
We make two longboard templates: a standard fin at 25 degrees and a rake fin at 35 degrees. If you spend most of your time on the nose, go rake. If you like to carve, go standard.
Fin system
All our longboard fins use a US Box base with bolt-and-screw hardware included. This fits the standard 10.5 inch centre box found on most longboards and mid-lengths.
Colour
Does not affect performance. Pick the one you like. We have 16 to choose from.
